Strategic Planning

Too often, strategic planning is a "mind numbing" activity scheduled on a yearly basis. We dread the process; it seems formal and rote and it simply wastes precious time with little results. However, strategic planning doesn't have to be that way. In fact it can be one of the most useful activities that a work unit or an organization can use for creating commitment to a project or for enhancing the organization's competitive position in the marketplace. The key is that strategic planning, to be effective, must be a participatory process that involves the people in the organization, not just the planners from the Planning department!!

Our goal is to work with you as a partner to ensure that

  • Your strategic planning efforts are useful and productive
  • Participants in the process understand the purpose, philosophy, designing and planning aspects of strategic planning'
  • Creativity and environmental information are used as the foundation for the formulation of competitive strategies
  • The right people with the right information are part of the process.
  • Your team avoids the pitfalls of planning
  • A logic process is designed to facilitate results (an action plan and descriptive outline)
  • The resulting plan (document of the planning) is brief, useful, and descriptive and provides a basis for action within the organization.
